All faculty artists have worked extensively together as a team to reinforce and complement each other’s strengths and skills. Their expert production abilities combine to provide an incredible opportunity for the holistic growth of company members under their mentorship. From dance and vocal technique, performance, musicality, acrobatics, choreography and arranging to solo and small group coaching, acting, harmony, industry education and more... They are the total package!

LAUREN IRELAND

co-founder and director

Lauren completed her Bachelor of Secondary Music Education program at the University of Calgary, and has taught private voice lessons SINCE 2001. Proving she’s as talented a teacher as she is a singer, many of Lauren’s students have placed first and won honours at competitions including the Calgary Performing Arts Festival and the Stampede Talent Search.

Lauren’s students have been accepted into highly competitive post-secondary vocal programs across Canada.

Lauren served on the vocal faculty of The Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede from 2012 to 2016. She is an accomplished singer and performs in Calgary as a soloist. Singsana Performing Arts, her vocal studio, is highly regarded as a school both for beginners to learn the fundamentals of the craft and seasoned veterans looking to take their skills to the next level.

SCOTT HENDERSON

CO-FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR

Scott is one of North America’s most notable vocal ensemble specialists.  He is the founding member of R&B vocal group, The EarthTONES (5 top-20 hits, 2 Juno nominations), and lead singer for the soul/funk group Souls in Rhythm.

His career has taken him around the world, and he has shared the bill with many varied artists including Boyz II Men, David Foster, Jann Arden, Brett Kissel, and Common (to name a few). Scott was a vocal coach for Global TV’s Canada Sings.  

In addition to performing, Scott is a sought-after writer, producer, arranger, and performance coach. He's recorded with some of the world's best producers including sessions at Prince's Paisley Park Studios, and Giorgio Morodor's Beverly Hills studios. 

Locally, Scott co-ran the performing arts school Theatre Works, chaired the Stampede Talent Search, and has served as both senior vocal director and artistic director for The Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede.

 

BRANDON  WOOD

DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Brandon is often described as the ultimate triple threat. Because of his solid foundation in voice, dance, acting and gymnastics, he has performed on stages across the globe.

Brandon was a faculty member with The Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede, a choreographer for the 2014 World Champion Showband Dancers and was an inaugural member of O2 The Dance Company.

He travels internationally as an examiner and adjudicator for dance and talent competitions.

Brandon has been nominated for several awards for performance and choreography, and has logged hundreds of performances include starring and supporting roles in The Last Five Years, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Little Women, and The Sound of Music. He shared the stage with Ben Heppner in the Canadian premiere of Moby Dick with Calgary Opera and toured as a backup singer for Canada’s Michael Bernard Fitzgerald.

KIRSTEN  VILLAROMAN

DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Kirsten Villaroman has 15 years of dance experience and is trained in all styles including acrobatics and aerial work. 

Her versatile training has lead her to perform at Disneyland, Hollywood's EDGE, and in Las Vegas. Kirsten has experience performing both on stage and on camera.

Kirsten is formally trained in ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.), and was a member of The Young Canadians for several years. She's trained with notable instructors and choreographers including NappyTabs, Brian Foley, Angela Benson, J.T. Horenstein, Cyndi Scott, Rachael Poirier and many others. 

 Kirsten is in the process of receiving her Junior Acrobatique Teacher's Certification. She has been a dance instructor for 3 years and desires to both grow and share her knowledge and love for dance.

ASHLEY  BRODEUR

DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Ashley has been dancing for most of her life, started teaching at age 16 and is a well-rounded dancer and instructor of jazz, contemporary, tap, ballet and hip hop,

She’s worked with some of the very best choreographers in the dance world on both live and TV performances, throughout the globe.She’s traveled internationally with both the Canadian National Tap Team, and the Canadian National Jazz Team.

She received her BFA in Dance at York University and attended the Commercial Dance Program at George Brown College studying dance, vocal, theory and acting, and has trained at Millennium Dance Complex (Los Angeles).  Ashley received her RYS200 HR Yoga Teacher Training (Spain) and completed a teaching residency in the Dominican Republic.

 In Calgary, she’s studied with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks and now teaches for them. Ashley is also the Army of Sass City Leader (YYC).

FACULTY ALUMNI

GEORGINA MOORE

DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Georgina is a New York City-based performer, trained in all styles of dance. She is currently performing with the company of the 42nd Street National Tour.  

Her elite training began at the School of Alberta Ballet's Professional Division where she performed in Swan Lake, Paquita and Don Quixote. She also appeared with the Alberta Ballet Company in their nationally-acclaimed rendition of The Nutcracker Suite.  Georgina expanded her training by attending Summer Training Intensives at The Boston Ballet School, Cincinnati Ballet Academy, and Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She was accepted into the American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York City's Dance Theatre Conservatory program on a partial scholarship. She broadened her training in all styles of dance, as well as voice, scene study, musical theatre, improvisation and camera work.

Her passion for teaching inspired her to create The Broadway Workshop Series; a program dedicated to the teaching and preservation of original Broadway choreography.  Georgina continues to be a performer, student, teacher and choreographer between her on-going projects in both Canada and the U.S.
